The Lincoln Continental of 1980 is still a legend of opulence and lavishness and the art of American car making. This coincided with a three-speed automatic transmission assuring smooth shift and ease in driving. The Lincoln Continental of 1980 was balanced and it had both comfort and power.

Performance

The 1980 Lincoln Continental had good performance in spite of the concerns of fuel economy of that time. It could reach speeds of the order of 110 mph (177km/h), amazing output by a full size luxury sedan. It took just less than 10 seconds to accelerate the vehicle to 60 mph and this was achievable by a car of its size and weight.

This was also one of the highlights of the 1980 Lincoln Continental because it had an outstanding interior design.
